Well, it’s time to start going “public” a bit more.  I’ve started a YouTube channel because I really feel a calling to get my story out and to speak to the damage that ex-gay ministries cause.  Please subscribe to my YouTube channel…more great things to come!

Look at you! You go to LA and now you’re ready for your face to be out there!

So I just heard about Alan Chambers apologizing to those who had been involved with Exodus international. I was watching Lisa Ling on youtube and saw you come up and realized I have been following your blog for a while. I just watched this video and it seems you live(d) in Oregon, which I never realized (I live here too). Anyway, I was trying to be straight for a while. But a couple months ago I chose to come out to a select amount of people (family not included).
After watching this I want to firstly say I have a higher respect towards you, and would also like to thank you.

Dear Pastor Chris. I just found your blog as I was searching for the official meaning of open And affirming and Disciples of Christ. Great reading. I attend a Doc in Northern California and our pastor is gay. Recently our lgbtq committee posted a rainbow flag and all hell literally broke loose. Needless to say, what came out of the closet was a lot of homophobia by some in the congregation that claimed to be open and affirming. If you have had any experience like this, would appreciate your advice.

  4. Is there a way to contact you?

I just went through all of your posts, and I applaud your courage throughout this long, painful transition. My congratulations feels minuscule in the face of your huge change, but I wanted to let you know that it has touched me and given me a lot to ponder. I found your blog while researching a character for my novel, a closeted gay evangelical pastor. Your insight will make him feel more real to me, and, hopefully, my readers.

Thanks for your honesty. Hope life keeps moving upward.

Thank you for sharing your story. It is similar to my own in some ways. It would be interesting to compare notes. You might, toward that end, what to check out my blogs. The one in which I am sharing a fictionalized version of my back story is http://bitheway50.blogspot.com Thanks again for your courage!
